A stranger showed up in Facetime!!

Wondering if your friend (or you) mistakenly added the other person somehow.

An Apple Support article : Make a Group FaceTime call on iPhone – Apple Support

says:

"Any participant can add another person at any time during a FaceTime call."

and

"When someone invites you to join a Group FaceTime call, you receive a notification of the incoming call—you can either join or decline".

Sorry, if my suggestion upset you. Eg: There are many people in my contacts I would not know by sight, because I make purchases from them, e-mail various-queries to them, or use their services, etc., but never see their faces.

We are all Apple users, like yourself, in this community, volunteering our time to try and help troubleshoot. (Apple does not read or reply to questions here.)

Have not heard of anyone else seeing complete strangers appear in FaceTime.

Somehow, the stranger must have received an invitation.

Eg: Create a link to a FaceTime call on iPhone – Apple Support

says: (if they receive a link) "They can join you in one-on-one and Group FaceTime calls from their browser—no login is necessary."

Sorry I don't know much about how the call logs are compiled.

(Eg: If the stranger didn't stay, would it be recorded ?)

Maybe another community member may be able to volunteer that information.

There may be (business / associations ?) people you don't know / recognise in your contacts ?
