This is highly likely a network issue - try to disconnect and re-connect to your WiFi. In some cases, you may need to reboot the device.

Had this issue before and was solved by quickly calling Apple Support.

Tried that, and tried on different iPhone, same error. Also, it asks for four digit code instead of six.
