Disable gif texting on Apple Watch

I’ve disabled gif texting on my child’s iPad but their watch still has gif texting enabled. How can I disable it on their watch?

Thanks for reaching out, p2squared.

It sounds like you want to restrict the use of .GIFs when your child is texting. We can help.

We recommend to verify and make sure that the Messages app is an allowed app, in Screen Time for "Content & Privacy Restrictions." To verify that, you can follow the section in this article that says, "Allow built-in apps and features": Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

In addition, you'll want to check and see if #images is added to the app drawer for the Messages app. If it is, we can disable it to ensure that GIFs cannot be used. Here's how: Use iMessage apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch under "Manage iMessage apps."

Hope that helps!

Take care.
