ipad pro disconnecting during backup

I have been trying to Backup my IPad Pro (4th Gen) IOS 15.5 to my Imac M1 (Monterey 12.4)

Each time i connect it to the Mac it makes the connection and starts to Sync as i can see the icon spinning at the top of the IPad and after approximately 30 Seconds the IPad disconnects and i get the message the Backup could not complete as the IPad has been disconnected.

I have the IPad plugged in via the USB-C port on the Imac and there are no hubs etc on the Imac.

I have tried rebooting everything and gone through settings that could interupt the IPad closing/sleeping etc.

I have backed up my Iphone 13Pro with no problem at all through the same ports and have tried a couple of Apple and 3rd party USB-C leads but still have the same issue.

Any help and advice will be welcome

Hi PING11,

Does this happen with multiple USB-C ports on your iMac? Trying other ports can show if the issue is only happening with one port or multiple ports, which can help determine next steps.

If possible, you could also try multiple cables to connect your iPad Pro to your iMac, as this can help isolate if the issue is happening with one cable or multiple. If it's happening with multiple cables, then the issue wouldn't be a cable.

You could also see if restarting both your iMac and iPad Pro help. Restarting both devices refreshes the software and could help resolve possible issues:

Take care.
