My Mac/Google E-mail won't work

I just changed my Google password. In the process I was asked whether I wanted to allow Mac iOS to read, delete etc my gmails etc. I clicked ALLOW. Now my Mac/Google e-mails do't work. I just get the ball of death when I try to send an e-mail. HELP!

Can't add Gmail account to Mac. Good morning...I am stuck! I changed my Gmail password yesterday and can no longer access my Gmail account through Mail. My Gmail account would show the little 'Lightning Bolt' when I opened Mail, and would not sign in. I have removed the account and tried to re-add it. Why won't my Mac allow new emails to be received by me? Should I delete email icon and start over? I have contacted my email provider and they haven't been able to help. Im not a computer wizard at all. I have had this Mac for 8 years and have never had to mess with anything on it. I can login on my phone and get to mail, but Mac won't accept the password. It says that the password is incorrect.

macOS Sonoma 14.1.2 has created Mail accounts to stop working The Mail app on my MBP with Sonoma 14.1.2 has created an issue with my Gmail account and it no longer functions with the computer. I get requests for the password used for the Gmail account and I have put it in the box only to get the message "unable to verify address or password" and this keeps happening. I tried to change the password, but it doesn't seem to change anything. I have gone to Google Mail to see it anything has changed at their end, but could not find any changes. When I go to google and select Mail, I can get all of my messages with no problems. It's just when I try to use Gmail in the Mail App on the Mac, it will not resolve the issue I'm having with Gmail. My @iCloud/Mac/Me (which apparently are the same), account works fine. I would like to get back to using the Mail app that comes with this Mac, as it has many more features that using my mail account at the google site. Can someone from the community please help?

It may just need an App Password separate from the eMail PW...
