Mail not responding to iPad 6th gen touch screen

Mail not responding to touch screen. Safari browser however is responding to touch⁉️

If your Mail App appear to have frozen, quit and restart (force-close) the Mail App.

iPad safari has stopped working Don't know what happened but wanted to use Safari and whenever I touched it Mail would come up. Thought I had touched incorrectly and it did it again - repeatedly. When I touch Mail it loads Mail. So I powered down the iPad and restarted it but it made no difference. Any one else experience this? Any suggestions? Thanks

Email On IOS Blank after searching iOS - 17.0.3 Mail app Open Mail app Open any inbox. Search for mail. Go to any older mail and open. It is just a blank screen with no content If I open the mail without searching it shows content
