Turned off iCloud and everything gone I know I sound stupid but I'm lost. I turned off iCloud and everything is gone from my Mac book Air 2020 M1. Factory reset laptop that is backed up to iCloud All my files are backed up to my iCloud account. Can I factory reset my laptop without losing any of this data. I would like to factory reset my MacBook Pro then restore it so that it has everything that it has on it now. How do I do this?

Turn off iCloud syncing in System Preferences. You then have to manually delete all iCloud synced items. Or you can go to iCloud.com using a browser and delete the items there. You will need to allow plenty of time for the sync to complete. The iCloud sync is very very slow.
