I've forgotten the pin to my Apple Watch

I've forgotten the pin to my apple watch. How to I override this? I've tried the holding side button and then crown button but I just got a red exclamation screen and no option to reset. This is an old watch and not connected to my current phone. I'm just wanting to start reusing it and need to override the pin screen..

How do I reset my Apple Watch 1 without the paired phone?

All replies

  1. Connect the watch to its charging cable, with power connected.
  2. Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider.
  3. Press firmly on the display (do not try to slide the Power Off slider - just press down more firmly than a normal tap) and then tap on Erase all content and settings.
