Unable to change Launchpad layout

I have recently bought a Mac Studio and running the latest version of Monterey 12.4. After transferring my files from another Mac I noticed that the order of the Apps in Launchpad had changed. I spent some time rearranging them into the order I prefer but after a restart they are back to the old order.

How do I make the order of the Apps stick?

It's admittedly a slightly old-school way to make these apps visible and comfortable to launch for some of my users. That said, if I have just one such alias, all is well and Monterey behaves as desired. However, when I add another, these aliases become hidden under an expandable item called "developer" which makes these icons more difficult to find. The whole point of putting them on the Desktop is to make them easy to find, so my question is: is there some way to prevent this behavior and simply show both aliases as separate items on the desktop, sans the grouping under the "developer" tab?

Turn Off Automatic 'Games' Folder Creation It's very frustrating whenever I download a new game, Launchpad auto-sorts my applications into a 'Games' Folder every time, despite dragging the games out of this folder back into the organization system I've set within Launchpad. I saw another comment/reply that said this was an automatic and unchangeable feature within Mac OS. Is there any way for users to request this feature be removed or at least made optional in a future update? It's just really disruptive.

How do I re-order my desktop widgets without having to drag? I have a large number of widgets (over 10), meaning the mini-items that are revealed when I click the time in the macOS menu bar. I struggle with dragging them into the order that I want them to display, especially when I add a new one. Is there a way to re-order them without having to drag? Steps: Click the time in the menu bar Scroll to the bottom Click Edit Widgets Choose to add a new widget. Click a widget to add Click done ???? (I'm seeking something to move the new widget up to where I want it to appear in the widget sequence, but that doesn't involve dragging, preferably something I can do using only the keyboard) Does what I seek exist for the last step?

Have Not Tried it myself so can vouch for it working or worse breaking things.

Thanks for this. I removed the .db file and changed a few Apps in Launchpad and they were remembered after a restart. Can now sort out the others.
