TheLittles,
This tip is not really all that helpful on a long term basis and is very inconveinent to the actual phone user. The whole backup and then restore to "fix" this excessive data usage is absolutely terrible.
I have been dealing with this sort of problem for over a year now. Things seem fine with the phone and then suddenly the "System Data" size will balloon by 10gb PER DAY until the phone is full. No tweaks/changes/alternate apps/processes have been able to stop this from eventually happening.
Then I have to go through the hassle of restoring my phone and re-setting up all my secure/authentication apps, which is a huge pain. There is obviously something wrong going on that's using up data unnecessarily and since
"Other" is all "junk" (as we'd commonly say) files (i.e. caches from installed apps)."
as you refer to it in DOC-250002774 then there should be a much simpler way to just purge out the old caches and temp files than having to reset/restore the entire computer.
Not a single person from apple has been able to help in this regard and there are tons of user that encounter this problem, hence the HUGE number of community posts titled "System Data". APPLE, please please please please find a way to fix this.
