Navigation Volume during handsfree calls when using Apple Car Play

When using hands free calling on Apple CarPlay & using navigation (goolge maps, waze & apple maps) the navigation voice volume increases and I cannot hear who I am talking to.

I have muted all navigation instructions on my vehicles, my apps, & on my phone. Yet Apple has taken it upon them selves to place this horrendous feature of their increased Navigation Volume Only when making handsfree phone calls.

Is Apple intentional causing people to not use handsfree voice calling?

Help deaf while driving.

Hello Mattie 2016, You didn’t say what vehicle you drive, but on my Honda Pilot if you want to make navigation volume adjustments you have to do it “while” the navigation system is talking. With my vehicle you use the main volume knob. Again you must make the adjustment while the navigation system is talking. If your not fast enough you will have to wait for the next navigation instruction. Maybe this applies to your vehicle too.
