When trying to activate, it asks for my zip code and a keyboard pops up but after I type in my zip code the keyboard won’t go away so I can tap “continue” There is no key to minimize it and no return or Done key so I am stuck at that point with no way to enter the zip code I typed in.

Weirdest thing ever. At the same time, hold down “Continue” button while pressing in the zip code block. Without releasing where your “Continue” finger was, use your other finger to enter your zip code. Release both when done and—WALA—it worked. This was after two glasses of wine…(not sure if that’s critical).
I’m glad everything worked out!
You also might want to report a bug to Apple so that they can fix it.
