xs max screen unresponsive on top edge and scrolls on its own in apps

My XS max has started 'resetting' to the top of page while im using it in apps or sending Texts, it happens even when phone is sitting on a surface and I am not touching the edges - only using my finger ti scroll or type. I also seems to be u responsive on the edges (eg if I use speaker while searching through phone for something I then can not return to the call by pressing the little green phone icon on the top corner of the screen. It is up to date with IOS 15.5.
