Unable to open .zip file on iPhone.

Keep getting error “the operation couldn’t be completed. Inappropriate file type or format” when trying to open a .zip file on iPhone X with iOS 15.5. I’m using Files to open it. I’ve tried both a straight tap and a long hold/uncompress, same error. I’ve restarted my phone and redownloaded the file, nothing works.

iPhone 16 opening PDF and GIF file is problem I can't open certain PDF and GIF/JPEG files in iPhone 16 pro (IOS 18.2.1). These files easily opens in iPhone 15. Any solution?? I called Apple for this they also verified the problem and I was told they received the similar complaint from other user and it will get fix in the new software release ISO 18.2.1, which didn't solve the problem. This is very disturbing since I can't open the files; I have log in to my PC and review from there. During travailing I can't open the file which is very annoying after paying $900-$1200 for a phone.

Zip file won’t open on ipad Hello I’m using an ipadOS 16.6 and would like to open my mockup zip file. When I tap on the ZIP file, there’s no folder that appear. It used to work perfectly in the past, but I just tried it recently and there was only a picture that says preview content. And there’s nothing there either. I would appreciate it a lot if anyone could help me. Thank you so much in advance. Clueless-

Did you try it to uncompress the file from the mail ? If you did then the file get corrupted

I didn’t try to uncompress it until the file was saved onto my iPhone. Tried downloading it twice. No luck.
