Changing my Apple ID on my phone. When I left my job the phone I was allowed to keep kept my work email as my Apple ID. I would like to change it to my personal Apple ID but when I enter my personal email my phone tells me that email address is already taken. Which is true it is taken by me. But I would like to use it on this phone what should I do?

When changing to the new ID, there may be some data loss, but you can minimize it. If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. You need to log out of your work Apple ID and Sign back in with your personal. Be careful, you can lose data in this process
