The Back To School promotion gives a free $210CA gift card with the purchase of the MacBook Air. The way that Apple handles that is by billing $210CA for the gift card and then discounting the price of the MacBook Air by the same amount. The total of the two billings will be the MacBook Air price.

Yes to both questions.
So, after i will be charged which (macbook air edu price - 210 dollar) correct ? totally still hardware + tax.
By the way, can I use this gift card for next when I purchase macbook, ipad, or iwatch?
Do you know how long it takes for the charge to clear on your card? It's been 2 days for me
It is not a temporary charge. The "discount" is the gift card.
But this makes no sense other than being a scam.
If they charge you $210 first and then give it back in the form of a $210 discount - the sum is $0. No discount.
Am I missing something?
Yes you are.
The total of the two billings is the undiscounted price of the Mac but you got both a Mac and a gift card. The gift card was free.
So are they just taking that $210 from me

No they are not, and that isn't even close to what I posted above.
Hey hi, what's the update?. I was charged 140cad 2 times one on the invoice with the ipad (ipad cost + giftcard - giftcard) and again 140 cad for the giftcard
Did you get the money back?. I was charged 140cad for the gift card too on top of ipad-140cad+140cad.
