Two iphones, same issue

Hi i have chosen ‘video’ in the ‘double back tap’ settings. The video camera opens and records, i then stop recording and have three options: retake; play icon; use video.

‘retake’ will retake the video and works. ‘Play icon’ plays the video and works.

‘Use video’ closes the app, a camera icon briefly drops down with a tick to the right of it. BUT WHERE IS THE VIDEO??. And no its not in the photos/pics folder or amywhere else ive looked!! Tried on my iphones 8 & 12

ok, given that you're using a shortcut, the issue will be with the shortcut itself.

I made a simple shortcut made up of 'Take video with Back camera'

I run the shortcut and I see the same thing you do.

I tested adding another action, which is suggested right below the 'Take video' action.. to 'Save to Photo Album'.. which auto populates with 'Save Video to Recents'

Run the shortcut now, and when selecting 'Use Video', it's now saved in the Photos app

So go to your Shortcuts app, tap on the 3 little dots on the shortcut name you're using (should be named Record given your screenshot), then add the new action 'Save to Photo Album'

Should be good to go after that
