Have others has their iPad go into security lockout for no reason? I did not enter any wrong passcodes. I just opened the cover to find security lockout. Now needing to wipe it.

Whether anyone else has or not won't really help you. If anyone in your household tried to use your iPad, they could have entered the passcode incorrectly. Regardless, if the the iPad is disabled, it has to be restored using a computer with iTunes (Windows) or Finder (Mac), fully erasing the device. You can then restore from backup, assuming you've been routinely backing up.
