Screen time data

I turned off screen time for a while and now all my screen time data is gone. Can I know if this is supposed to happen? If it is, then is there any way for me to temporarily turn it off while keeping my existing data? Thanks!

Hi Marcus_622,

We understand. It's expected behavior for your Screen Time data to erase and reset when you turn Screen Time off and back on again. There isn't a way to temporarily turn Screen Time off and keep your existing data. However, if this is a feature you'd like to see added, we recommend leaving feedback for Apple here: Product Feedback - Apple

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you turned off Screen Time on your device and were surprised to see that your previous data was gone. We'd like to help.

Was this option turned off on your specific device or was it on a managed child's device? Are there specific options that you wanted turned off temperorarly or would you like to disable Screen Time all together at that point. It is likely expected behavior when you turn off this option but let us know more and we'll work to get confirmation on that.

Hi ColleenD1, what I meant by turning off screen time was that I press the turn off screen time button on my phone. I knew that I was going to use my phone a lot more than normal that day so I wanted to temporarily turn screen time off so the data would not be recorded. I did not know that my data would be wiped, so I would like to ask if there is any way to temporarily stop recording screen time data to my phone without wiping my existing data. Sorry my first question was not very clear.
