Mac OS Monterey download enquiry

Hello,

This question has probably been asked but I'm running a mid 2014 MBP 13" with Big Sur it isn't compatible, but I need to make a bootable usb to recover a family members Mac mini as the internet recovery says its installed but doesn't boot, I have used first aid on the HDD but that throws out no errors and I feel the installer has corrupted if anyone one could point me in the right direction that would be a massive help. (yes if you're wondering I have swapped the HDD out with another even an SSD still no boot)

It gets stuck exactly 50% on boot even after every troubleshooting tip that I have done

As already outlined - not possible using this computer.

To perform this action will require booting from a Bootable Installer.

The Bootable Installer can Only be performed on an Apple Computer

This will have to be performed from a Qualifying Computer to run the version of macOS to be made on the Bootable Installer. Example : Bootable Installer of Monterey would have to be done on a computer that Qualifies to run Monterey.

Notation: If the computer being used to perform this action is Too New or Too Old to qualify to run the version of macOS - this computer can not be used.

Alternative is, to gain access to a Qualifying Apple Computer from a family member, friend or associate.

Once that is done read on for preparing the Destination computer >> Only works on Intel Based Apple Computers.

What you are asking isn’t possible.

Have you tried booting the non-workin Mac into Safe Mode?

While in Recovery, did you try reinstalling macOS?

You may be able to copy the data using Target Disk Mode: Transfer files between two Mac computers using target disk mode - Apple Support

Unfortunately safe mode doesn't boot, the recovery OS download doesn't seem to do much either

I have recovered what files I can from Target Disk Mode but there are some files that cant be recovered at all even with an admin password which is what it requested that's both the local admin for my mac and my family mac admin

okay thank you I might have a work around for that though, but it dose require me to do a patched Monterey witch I don't want to do as I know that they're unstable and unreliable and to be honest, I get the feeling that even with a patcher the install would still pick up the fact its a mid 2014 Macbook not a 2015 correct me if I'm wrong
