Arrow keys not working MacBook Air 2017

I had my battery replaced and then I updated my computer to Monterey 12.4. Since then, the arrow keys no longer work. I have checked the keyboard settings and it doesn't show the arrow keys on it (nor the tab, shift. or return), not sure if that's normal or not. If I do hit the arrow key, it puts a blue rectangle around the window that is open and the space bar instead of adding a space, moves back one letter and doesn't work. When I try to click in the area, the cursor doesn't allow me to continue typing. It doesn't matter if I'm using Safari, Pages, Numbers, etc. If I click on a folder, it automatically puts a blue rectangle and then turns the folder dark and I can't access it. This is driving me crazy! I need the use of these keys. Any suggestions aside from restoring it? Thank you

Make sure "Enable Full Keyboard Access" is disabled in System Preferences > Accessibility > Keyboard.

Thank you for your response. I attempted to do that and now the blue rectangle is back. I can move the mouse on that keyboard but if I attempt to click on a key it doesn't appear anywhere. However, as I type this on the laptop, that keyboard is popping up word suggestions. I closed out of everything and reopened it and I'm typing on my laptop and have that keyboard opened. Even with that keyboard opened and I still have issues with arrows not working and space bar issue. Everything worked fine after the battery was replaced and before I did the update. Could it be related to battery replacement, possibly, I just don't know much about computers. Any other suggestions? I'm grateful for your help.
