Internal Hack Alert?

On Sunday, 11 July 2022, did anyone with a new Apple Credit Account less than a month old receive a text massage from their “Financial Institution” about a charge made through Apple Pay?

I did! It was bogus. Suspect a mole inside Apple Pay! My account is brand new.

Apple and/or Goldman Sachs will not contact via text that way. You received an attempt to gain access to your personal and/or financial information. It’s what’s known as a phishing scam.

Here is a link to a description from the Federal Trade Commission.

The FBI has this posted,

This is not an internal mole or hacking. Anyone can send a text message. The scammers cast a wide net and hope people will comply.
