using Apple Business Manager at home

Hello everyone,

I want to begin studying for the Apple Deployment and Management exam, with a view to earning the Apple Certified IT Professional badge. I've already passed the Device Support exam, which is a prerequisite.

A lot of the content for the Apple Deployment and Management exam is based around MDM, Managed Apple IDs, supervising Apple devices, and Shared iPad. In order to prepare as thoroughly as possible, it would be useful to have some hands-on knowledge of these, and other, technologies covered by the exam objectives.

Obtaining an MDM solution shouldn't be too difficult; it seems as though there are trial and free options available. However, I'm wondering whether or not it's possible to obtain access to Apple Business Manager? This is apparently the portal used to administer Managed Apple IDs, which are needed for setups such as Shared iPad.

I'm not currently working, and am studying independently at home. I don't have a DUNS number, as there is no organisation.

I am happy to register my own domain, as it would only be a short-term arrangement. This would circumvent the issue of consumer email addresses not being accepted for Business Manager.

So, to summarise, is it possible to try Apple Business Manager at home, without an actual organisation?

Would really appreciate any help and guidance with this; maybe I'm approaching the problem entirely the wrong way?

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers.
