It is worth noting watchOS 9 will not support Apple Watch Series 2. Apple Watch Series 2 is also discontinued. watchOS 9 Preview - Apple
If watchOS 9 matters to you and/or you want more health features. I'd recommend buying an Apple Watch Series 4 or higher (so 4, 5, 6, 7, or SE). I wouldn't recommend the Series 3 anymore as well because watchOS 9 will also not support Series 3.
