Time machine update on battery

Is there a way to make time machine backups while the mac is on battery?

Normally the mac loads much faster than the time the backup needs so would be much healthier for the battery if I wouldn't always have the mac plugged in just to make a backup.

Well, in the almost 19 Years in the Apple Eco-System ( to compare longevities ) - anything that is worth protecting is not work any type of risk

IMHO - There has been sufficient advise offered for the User to make an informed and educated choice what the next course of action is required.

The suggestions have been put forth on a volunteer basis, in good faith and in the best interests of the computer.

Do you have a Rescue Plan In-Place. This comprises having 3 Backups using 2 methods and 1 Off Site incase of Theft, Loss or Natural Disasters. A Time Machine Backup  is very useful and can be used to Revert to Previous Working macOS

For addition purposes - two Tested Clones each to separate external drives. This is insurance incase the upgrades goes sideways. At least one Tested Clone and / or Time Machine Backup should be Off - Site

Depending on the amount of changes to the system and personal Data on the Internal Drive - the TM Backup can take some time to complete.

Does the User want to risk the Battery will run out of enough Power for both the Computer and External Drive for the TM Backup to complete successfully ?

Personally - I would not.

At least, if I what to really protect non-replaceable Personal Data.

Well I'm absolutely willing to take that "risk" as the risk of this happening is more or less 0%.

Reality is backups are happening in the background while working on the mac, if the battery runs low I see it and plug it in. In 10 years of Mac use it not even once happened that the battery got 0 percent without me realizing it. Now that that is made clear back to the actually question:

Is there a way to make backups when on battery? (Please please no more of topic answers)
