Which is easiest and most straight forward: migrating to the new computer from an external HD (Time Machine) or using Apple's Migration?

Migration Assistant sets up your new Mac properly and pulls your files from the backup/TM volume or old Mac. In many cases, using Migration Assistant from the old Mac is a little faster than from Time Machine (especially over ethernet/wired connection), so it's ultimately your decision to what process you want to complete as they relatively take the same amount of time.

Thanks for your reply. After watching several YouTube tutorials on using Apple's Migration, it seems there are several problems with having to update Apps like, Adobe, DropBox, iCloud to their M1 versions of these and other Apps. Sound familiar? Thanks!
