Sweeping cursor in Safari on IOS

Not sure how to explain this issue with Safari that only occurs on my iPhone (iOS 15.2, iPhone XR). Every few days when i open Safari a cursor sweeps over the area of the address bar (which i have moved to the top of the screen) and disappears. Everything seems fine, just very annoying not knowing what it is.

i have tried taking a screenshot but my reflexes are not fast enough. Looks sort of like a pen or microphone or something?

Driving me crazy trying to figure it out. Never seen it happen on my iPad, just my phone and just safari.

Any help or explanation would be appreciated!

Welcome Victorvc,

While we're a bit unsure what you mean by cursor on the iPhone, we'll certainly do our best to help out.

It appears you have updates available, which also updates Safari for the iPhone. We'd suggest backing things up and getting up to date: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch- https://support.apple.com/HT204204

If the issue continues to occur, you may need to clear out Safari and try it again: Clear the history and cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Should it persist, are you connected to something on your iPhone? Do you use any Accessibility features on this device?

Wishing you well, cheers.

Thanks for the reply. I knew explaining it would be tough. It is basically a flyover icon when i start Safari every 5-6 days. It flies over the address bar and goes away.

Reading it back makes no sense. UFI - unidentified flying icon? I have no accessibility features on so that is not it. It has no impact on my ability to use Safari at all. Just a mystery screaming to be solved.

i have taken to hovering over the screenshot buttons every time i start Safari to try and snap a shot like some nutty ghost hunter.

if i capture it i will post. Thanks again.

I get that the canned reply is to refresh/restart/update which i will do eventually. My post was more intended to evoke some curiosity. What little bug could possibly be in Safari to pull the wifi/cell/battery icons or the time icon (yes, it is at times one or the other) and sweep them across the display screen. Super odd and obviously a very obscure bug since it has not come up before. Ahh well, another harmless mystery to pile on the heap.
