I juat recieved a old Mac computer and when i try to reinstall the os, it is telling me that I incorrectly entered the incorrect password. Even though i changed it. I do i install os x yosemite, without signing into the cloud?

I just received an imac and it seems that the computer wont allow me to sign into my apple id, to reinstall os x yosemite. When i do, the verification code pops up on my phone, but not on the newly acquired imac. What do i do?

More details are needed on how you are trying to reinstall macOS. I cannot tell if you are booting into the OS or if you are booted into recovery mode when this occurs.

If you can boot the Mac normally, then create a bootable macOS 10.11 USB installer using the instructions in this Apple article:

How to create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support

Otherwise, try booting the Mac using Command + Option + R which should allow you to access recovery mode without needing to authenticate with an AppleID to reinstall macOS. You may need to reset the date on the computer to sometime in 2017 (perhaps earlier) since the installer likely uses an outdated certificate.

You will need to follow instruction linked by @P. Phillips to perform a clean install, but my tips here will likely be required to actually boot a valid macOS installer.
