My new MagSafe battery pack doesn’t show green light when fully charged.

My new MagSafe battery pack doesn’t show green light while charging but shows it when it’s plugged out. So I don’t know if it’s fully charged unless I plug it out. I’m wondering if I bought a defective one

Hi there Koropip,

Thank you for posting to Apple Support Communities.

Great question about the expected behavior of the MagSafe Battery Pack. The green light may flash when it is charging.

It's a great article that you've referenced with How to use your MagSafe Battery Pack

The status light on your MagSafe Battery Pack will stay lit for about 8 seconds.

While your MagSafe Battery Pack is charging, the status light might flash. If it flashes green, your battery pack is fully charged. If it flashes amber, your battery pack might need more time to charge.

Using an adapter that isn't 20W or higher will result in a slower charge.

Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated.

I am using 20W adapter , and tried overnight charging but still I don’t see green flash light. When I unplug it, I see green light for a few second. My battery pack charges my iPhone 12 anyway but the battery power doesn’t last very long. My iPhone beta is 5.5 . I leaned if 4.7, it works correctly. And also I’m going to purchase a 30w. I’m suspecting my 20w not functioning.

Thank you again.
