Issues with Mail and Exchange

Hi,


I was wondering else is having an issue with their exchange account and the mail app.


My dad hit a pop up window from apple and next thing you know his mail has stopped working. I have updated the OS hoping it would help and when I didn't I wiped the hard drive and did a refresh install. I am getting the same error message.


Can someone please help me out I have no clue what he has done or how to fix it because I'm about ready to pull out my hair.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

See if this might be it...


Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes or more.


Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.


Using app passwords with apps that don't support two-step verification (microsoft.com)
