Can't add AppleCare to new MacBook Pro

I bought a 16" just over two weeks ago and am trying to buy AppleCare. checkcoverage.apple.com reports what I would expect to see for my device without AppleCare -- all the checkmarks are green and the dates look correct with the hardware coverage ending a year after I bought it.

However, when I go to mysupport.apple.com and click on the new MacBook Pro, it says "We're sorry, but we're unable to find your coverage information at this time. Please try again later."

If go to buy AppleCare by searching for it, it tells me I have no eligible devices. If I then put in the serial number for the device, it tells me it's not eligible.

How do I get this resolved so I can buy AppleCare?

Thanks, Patrick

I purchased my MBP on the apple site just before the release date and it was shipped to me. I paid using my Apple Card. I finally got so fed up with their customer support online. I finally managed to secure a genius bar appt at the retail store tomorrow. To even get that took over an hour. I'm seriously so ****** at the time wasted and Apple's less than good customer service.

I have the same issue on my brand new 2 week old Macbook pro. I've spent 3 hours on the phone with them with no resolution and I was disconnected twice resulting in having to start the process over again with front line customer service trying to "help" even tho Ive been dealing with senior support and I have to push hard to get past them back to where I was EVEN after giving them the caseID. NOT happy Apple!.

I hate to say it, but I’m glad it’s not just me. I bought a MacBook Air the end of May at Best Buy, and this was only because it was on sale. Last week, I had the option to cover my Mac but wasn’t quite ready to purchase Apple Care yet. I went to add it this week, both through Apple and Best Buy, neither of which worked.

I’ve since made 3 calls to Apple and have not been able to get this resolved. They told me I’m okay since I technically still have 2 weeks to add it. But what exactly are they doing to resolve this?! I’m not calling them every day.

Don't lose your paperwork! I'd go to the Apple store with a copy of your receipt and have them fix it. I'm assuming there is nothing questionable about the purchase transaction as Apple will cut you off at the knees if they think you've got the MBP illegally. My 16-Inch 2021 M1 MBP just went tango uniform and Apple replaced the logic board and touch id board under warranty. For once I'm glad I forked over $400 for the 3 year warranty as I would hate to think of what this would have cost me.
