iPhone won't connect data while roaming

I have two iPhones, for work and personal. Both on different networks. I've added roaming to both. Both phones worked in the UAE en route to South Africa with access to calls and data and texts. In South Africa the work phone is operating as it should. My personal phone can make and receive calls and can do normal IOS text messages. The settings on both devices are identical. The network says there is no block and as it worked in the UAE it should work fine in South Africa too. Has anyone had the same issue?

Welcome Cornefromsandyford,

We were a bit confused by your post. It sounds like the work iPhone seems to be functioning fine, but your personal iPhone is not. However, you are able to receive and make calls, even text messages.

Are you having issues on your personal iPhone using iMessage? Browsing the web or using apps off Wi-Fi? What seems to be happening on the personal iPhone?

Also, it seems like this may be related to your roaming or cellular plan. Have you been in touch with your wireless carrier since you noticed this happening? Contact your wireless carrier: Wireless carrier support and features for iPhone in the United States and Canada - Apple Support (Select your region at the top, for more relevant information.)

The more we understand about what's going on, the better we can assist.

Hoping to hear back, cheers.
