iPhone microphone not working / iPhone 7

Hi, I was on a call recently and the microphone for my iPhone 7 stopped working completely. I've already looked for any debris that may be blocking it, checked in settings < privacy < microphone, reset the network settings, turned off Bluetooth, disconnected any audio output devices, etc. But nothing seems to work. I can't even test to see if I can hear myself in voice memos, because it doesn't allow me to record anything. Has anyone else had this issue? And if so, what did you do to fix the issue?
