Magic Trackpad 2 will not connect to iMac
My Magic Trackpad 2 is not working on my iMac.
My System:
iMac Late 2018
macOS Monterey 12.4
Magic Trackpad 2
By mistake I left my computer on overnight without logging off. When I awoke my screen was frozen, so I restarted the computer. After restart, my Magic Trackpad 2 will not work. The Magic Keyboard 2 will connect to the iMac and it is the only means of navigation that I have.
I have done the following:
- I don't see that there are any firmware updates for the Magic Trackpad 2, but it is hard to access the App Store thoroughly without a trackpad.
- I connected the trackpad to my laptop and it worked perfectly and is charged. I removed the bluetooth connection from my laptop after determining the Trackpad worked so that it would only connect with my iMac.
- I "Shut Down" the computer. Unplugged the power cord; Waited 15 seconds; Plugged the power cord back in; Waited for 5 seconds and powered up the computer. No trackpad connection.
- I reset the PRAM. No trackpad connection.
- I cannot find any .plist files to delete.
- My macOS is up to date.
- I've deleted two of the start-up programs just incase there was a conflict.
After doing all of the above....and some of the items I've done 3 to 4 times... No trackpad function. The arrow remains in the upper L hand corner of the screen.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
