Can't make or receive calls on iOS 15

My iPhone 12 won't make or receive calls since updating to iOS 15.5. I've factory reset my phone, reset network settings, had a new sim card, the lot. Followed every instruction from Apple's support site and from my network provider. Tested the sim card on another phone, and it works fine, so it's not a problem with my provider. Interestingly, the provider I am with actually switched which network I'm on when giving me the new sim card (Vodafone to O2), so I also know it's not isolated to a single network. My mother-in-law is also having the same problem.

There are at least 10 threads about this being a problem for some people since iOS 15 was released, and yet any answers received are cut and pasted from apple or links to apple support articles, none of which work (I've tried them all). This is clearly an issue with iOS 15 itself for some people, yet we're 5 updates in and still no answer. I've even seen someone say they got their phone replaced by the apple store and it STILL didn't fix the problem.

I'm having to use Whatsapp to make calls, but unless have the app open when someone tries to call me, even that doesn't work. I basically currently have a phone I can't use AS A PHONE.

"Can't make or receive calls on iOS 15: I've tried this. The second sentence I literally said, "I've factory reset my phone". I've tried everything I can find on Apple Support. Nothing works."

Thank you for the followup.

Troubleshooting Calls:

Two more thoughts on getting this serviced.

A. Take this to is an AASP:

Also, take this to an AASP (Apple Authorized Service provider), asking for assistance.

  1. Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller
  2. Click: Service & Support
  3. Enter: your location information
  4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
  5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the iPhone

B. Based on Personal Experience:

Have any Coverage on this? Next time you purchase an iPhone, get it from Apple (and none other, as a way to avoid scams). During the purchase add AppleCare for your iPhone. If faulty, they'd replace it, I'm sure, but that's Apple's call. A bit of a story: My Mac as faulty and having sent it in 11 times for service, Apple gave me a free $3.5K upgrade for no more than the price of AppleCare+ for Mac.

Set Up your iPhone Anew:

If you wanted to, you could reset this device, as if you're to sell it anew. All content would be erased from your device. Starting it up anew, it would come to the startup screen. Proceed from there with the login. Contact the Developers, if you need to reinstall something that requires as key.
