connector cable for hard drive macbookpro 2008

my macbook Pro 2008 has died. I have removed the hard drive and wish to use it as external hard drive for my macbook Air. What are the details of the connector cable I need.

Thank you

A USB 3.0 to SATA interface should work. I have two in an “enclosure” form factor, but there are some that are just a bare cable and SATA connector. I actually have this one, although I primarily use it with a USB-C to USB micro-B 3.0 cable that I bought separately. I also have a Patriot Gauntlet 2.

If a full-blown enclosure is too much for use with a temporary drive, but 'just an adapter'' is too little, the "Goldilocks - just right" solution may be a "toaster" style drive holder:

this one holds either a 2.5 or 3.5 drive at one time, but not two at once, about US$35 from OWC:
