Text messages on Ipad

How do you unlink your iPhone text messages from reaching your iPad permanently.

I know how to stop it on iPad by going through the setting on iPad. But if someone gains access to my iPad, they can go to setting and turn it back on. If they want to gain access to my bank account, they will bypass the two way security system by receiving the text code to my cellphone from my bank on the iPad and therefore that person can gain access to my bank account.

So, how can I permanently unlink my phone text messages from reaching the iPad without depending on the iPad setting to do it for me for the reasons explained above

Hey chukwudi114,

Sounds like you're looking to disable text message forwarding from your iPhone to your iPad. We'd be happy to help out.

To start, you'd want to turn this feature off on your iPhone. To do so, go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding and disable for your iPad. This will prevent any SMS messages from being received on your iPad and there won't be a way from your iPad to enable this. As for iMessages though, there's not a way to prevent this from being enabled on the iPad itself aside from signing out of your Apple ID account so that it cannot be enabled.

If concerned about this though, just be sure to use a passcode on your iPad to prevent any unauthorized use of the device in the event it's lost. If it's lost, you can also enable a feature called Lost Mode which will display a message of your choosing and add an additional layer of security. You can then locate the lost device using Find my iPad and also prevent access by choosing another passcode for it. We hope this information helps out.
