Notification Canceled screen on iPhone
Mt sweaty iPhone 11 pro stopped working right. In trying to shut it down I accidentally called 911, and when I stopped that it automatically tried calling my emergency SOS contacts. I stopped that too and it went to a black screen with the phrase "Notification Cancelled". The screen would not swipe away, and the phone would not respond to any reset, shut down, or forced reset commands because the "Notification Cancelled" screen stayed on top of all other layers. Nothing posted in the support community showed that Apple staff seem to understand what was going on. I then heard the phone bing on a text notification, so I deduced that the phone wasn't frozen; it was that the "Notification Canceled" screen was frozen in place on top of every other screen. So I tried having someone call me, and the call notification popped on top and I was able to answer the call. When I hung up, however, I was stuck with the "Notification Canceled" screen again. I had them try calling me again, and again I could answer. So therefore the phone screen, once active, is a higher level layer than the "Notification Cancelled" screen. While on the phone screen (on an active call), I tried the instructions for a forced restart and the "slide to restart" screen appeared, and I was able to restart the phone, and after that it went back to normal. My question is: is Apple aware of this bug in ios? If not, you should investigate it because I've seen thousands of people indicating they've had this problem, and the forced restart solution Apple folks have given is not actually possible. If Apple is aware of the bug, you should be advising people of this workaround. And, in future ios updates (and future phones) a) this screen layer order bug should be fixed, and b) there should really be a way to physically restart the phone without relying on swiping the touch screen.
