Larger font battery and time

In the past when I turned my iPad in to horizontal (landscape) a box popped up that showed the time and what percentage the batter was charged to.

It doesn’t do it now. I have a really hard time reading 12 point or less font. It would be great to have that feature back. I can barely make out the charge level if at all unless it’s 3 digits instead of 2. LOL. I even tried going in to the battery setting but it doesn’t really show exactly what the charge level is it only has a bar graph with small font also.

is the any widgets or setting to allow me to see the time and battery?

Long press on any empty area of the home screen, then press the plus sign in top left to pick from the many clock and battery widgets of different sizes

Presumably your iPad is now running iPadOS15. The previous major version, iPadOS14, had a different Today View - that included the Time, Day and Date above the scrollable widgets. This view is not replicated in iPadOS15.

There are many changes within iPadOS15 - of which one is the loss of the previous Today view on the first Home Screen.

With iPadOS15, you are now able to freely position widgets on any of the Home Screens - but you have lost the “compact” first Home Screen layout that shows a compressed 4x6 grid of App/Folder icons and Today view in Landscape screen orientation.

Widgets placed on a Home Screen now individually occupy one or more elements of a 4x6 icon grid. Home Screens without Widgets retain the familiar 5x6 icon grid. The slide-over Today View, previously seen in Portrait screen orientation from the first Home Screen, is still present - and is now also seen in Landscape. However, slide-over does not incorporate the Time and Time panel.
