Hello,

I understand that you sometimes want to change your iCloud address. It is not possible to change your iCloud email.

What you can do is add one or several iCloud-aliases through iCloud.com. You can both send and receive email with an alias and you can also make an alias the primary email used when composing new emails. You can have up to three different aliases connected to your iCloud Mail.

You can read more about iCloud aliases and how to add and manage them on this link Add and manage email aliases for iCloud Mail on iCloud.com - Apple Support

Hope this helps!

If you want a new Apple ID, when changing to the new ID, there may be some data loss, but you can minimize it. If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. Messages conversations will be lost if they are addressed to the ID. See the article below for other places that the old ID should be removed. See Winston Churchill's response in the below discussion. If possible, also set up Family Sharing  between the IDs to keep access to your apps/purchases.

If you follow the steps on the link above, just creating a new alias, you will still have the same Apple ID as of today. The difference is that you can send and receive email on another iCloud-address as well. The current iCloud-address is still active and that's the address that you will use to log in. This means that you can have several @iCloud.com email addresses to the same account and the same inbox.

Your Apple ID: same as today

iCloud-email address: same as today + the new alias that you create

Your iCloud data: untouched, since it's the same account

Creating an alias is great if your want to keep your data, Apple ID etc. but you may have changed your name or want another email address to share.

How do I change/update my Apple Id to a different name?
