How to change file association on iPhone

How do I change the file association on my iPhone?

I recently installed an app that has changed the file association from one app to another.

That is to say, for instance, .pdf files now appear with the icon of the newly installed app.

How can I manage which app a file extension is associated with?

I am using an iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 15.5.

Thank you!

Thank you for your prompt response.

Perhaps I was unclear.

To restate, I have Adobe installed on my iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 15.5 because I prefer to view/edit .pdfs with this app.

I had preexisting .pdf files attached to emails, etc.

When I installed a new app recently, the icon now displayed for .pdf files is no longer that of Adobe but the new app.

When tapping the files, they still open in the preview.

My principal concern is that changed behavior: the new app's icon attached to .pdf files.

That is what I would like to change.

Thank you.
