I am running MacOS catalina and I want to upgrade to MacOS Monterey. I wanted to know what free space required apart from download size of this OS on Macbook to upgrade.

And I'd say FoxFith advice is great, but absolute minimum, I'd shoot for 20-30GB more than those numbers.
