I keep hearing an alert sound on my MacBook. I don’t see anything on the screen that would coincide with this sound.
My phone doesn’t alert when it does, so it’s not like it’s an email or chat coming in.
how to fix this?

Have you checked Notification Center to see what may have been missed? Please see: Use notifications on your Mac.
Note that you can also customize alerts and and see if you still hear the sound with Do Not Disturb enabled.

On the newer macOS Monterey, notifications would show upon clicking on the date/time at the upper right of the screen. If you still don't see any notifications there, or do not recognize the notification that may have triggered the notification sound you were asking about, we recommend reaching out to Apple Support next: Get Support

ok so that notification icon is not on my screen as shown in the link. Beside the Siri icon is only the date and the time to the right. And to the left is how it’s shown.
how do i get to it then?
