I have an iPhone 12 pro. For some time now the screen will randomly dim. It is a huge problem outside on a sunny day as the screen is almost completely dark and it is impossible to see anything. I have auto dimming turned off. Have manually set the brightness to fully bright. But still dark. I had read somewhere that it is a hardware defect. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

Does that behavior still persist while the True Tone feature is disabled? Adjust the brightness and color temperature on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
