iPhone 6 no longer getting software update

iOS 12 is the last software update for the iPhone 6. Since there is an iPhone 6s Plus tag under your question, I’m just going to add that iOS 15 is the last software update for it too. Though on occasions Apple has been known to provide necessary security updates to older phones.

Upgrading an iPhone 6:

You device is obsolete. Upgrading past iOS12 is not an option. You no longer are provided withiOS Security and Privacy updates. This is because it does not have the required hardware for today's updates.
