I recently had to erase my iPhone and restore it from back up. Ever since then a lot of people that I used to be able to send text messages to no longer receiving them and I am getting a message of "Not Delivered". How do I fix this problem?

I recently had to erase my iPhone and restore it from back up. I have done google searches to solve this problem but all suggestions say that it is a "receiver" problem not a "sender" problem. But, it is a sender problem since all these problems started after restoring my iPhone from backup. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

SMS is a phone carrier feature, contact yours to resolve the issue.

Are you talking about SMS messages (Short Message Service), or Apple's iMessage - they both function similarly, but SMS messages appear in green, whereas iMessages appear in blue.

SMS uses your carrier's service to send to any SMS-capable user worldwide. iMessage only works between iPhone (or, more specifically, AppleID) users.

If SMS isn't working (previous messages were green), check with your service provider.

If iMessage isn't working (previous messages were blue), then you need to reset this phone's iCloud connection. Check Settings -> iCloud... it may be best to turn it off first, then turn it back on to reset the connection.

The messages that are not being delivered are green. But, they were green before I restored my iPhone from backup. And, I had no problem getting the messages delivered before then. I am not having any problems with blue messages.

I tried checking with my service provider that is Verizon. I can't even get them to understand the question. Their support is completely automated. And, they think I am having a billing question no matter how I word my questions.

I think there must be some setting that allows me to send and receive texts from others that don't have iPhones and/or iMessenger (i.e. green messages). Somehow I must have had that setting set correctly before I had to restore from backup and now that setting is not correct. But, I have no idea what that setting would be or how to find it. Any suggestions?
