copy files from a macbook pro to a new one

I bought a new macbook pro but I will also keep the old one for traveling. How can I copy the files - not transfer them - to the new Macbook. I want the new one to be a replica of the old one. Same user.

A time machine backup works the best.

If this is something you want to periodically do, the only real solution is sneaker net with a USB stick.

You can use iCloud to synchronize the files between them.
