Apple Watch not mirroring phone

Recently I switched carriers on my watch and phone. Ever since the port occurred, my watch does not mirror my phone. I have paired and unpaired, reset, all the things that are suggested numerous times.

also when I send a text it registers on my watch as a new unread text and sends notification that it was received over the watch. So right now I’m showing 1700 text messages on my watch with zero unread in my phone. Everything is set to mirror, there are no custom settings, and I feel like I’ve tried everything that was suggested can you please help?
