After closing an email and unsuccessfully trying to shut down the Mail app and just getting the circling color wheel, I would like to force close the app and shut down my computer but cannot do either. How can I turn off my iMac with color wheel spinning?
You may have an app that is hung up, if that is the case please use the Force Quit feature. Here is the link to that feature that will explain it How to force an app to quit on your Mac.
If for some reason you cannot Force Quit, shut down the computer as a last resort by holding down the power button for about 10 seconds.
