Apple TV remote stopped working. Apple Support site isn't recognizing the serial number. How can I troubleshoot? Have changed battery and unplugged/ replugged device.

Yes, that's the remote. Tried to unlink and link last night. No link image appeared on screen. Today won't click on at all.
